Maslyana – the Tasty Festival


Maslyana (Masnytsya, rus. Maslenitsa) is the ancient Slavic winter holiday dedicated to the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. It’s celebrated during a week before the Great Lent – the most important fasting season of the year of Orthodox Christian Church. The holiday is associated with the tradition to cook tasty dishes – pancakes, dumplings, cheesecakes, pies, etc.

Kharkiv – the city of youth

Kharkiv (often named Kharkov) is the Capital of Ukrainian students. There are more than 80 different Universities, Institutes, Colleges, Academies etc. Over 230 thousands of students inhabit the City, including 12 thousands of foreigners – two absolute records for Ukraine. You may suggest that Kharkiv is the City of knowlege? Well, maybe! But I would rather say “The City of student parties”!
